Alkington Parish Council vacancy for Clerk

Parish Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer (RFO)

Alkington Parish Council is looking to recruit a proactive Clerk/RFO to manage the day-to-day business of the Council. The parish has an electorate of 600 and there are 7 councillors who are friendly, supportive, forward thinking and keen to make a difference.

This is a part-time role for 6 hours per week plus additional 6 hours per evening Council meeting (six per year), based upon NJC pay scales SCP18-23, £12.98 to £14.42 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Experience in the role of Clerk/RFO is desirable, as is holding the Certificate in Local Council Administration, or the successful candidate should be prepared to achieve this qualification within 18 months of commencement. There are number of interesting community projects developing in the next couple of years which would suit a Clerk who enjoys working with a variety of stakeholders.

The Clerk will work from home, attending 6 council meetings per year at Stone Village Hall on a Monday evening of alternate months, and other meetings, as required and a laptop will be provided.
