Recycling centres close one day each week

From 28th October Gloucestershire County Council's Household Recycling Centres will be closed one day midweek.

As the evenings get colder and darker, the HRCs across the county receive almost 30 per cent less waste and recycling. In order to reflect this and save taxpayers money, HRCs will be open from 10am until 4pm, six days a week.

On Wednesdays, Pyke Quarry (Horsley near Stroud) will be closed.

Thornbury 'Sort It' Centre definitely off limits to Gloucestershire residents

In 2016 South Gloucestershire Council introduced restrictions which prevent any non-South Gloucestershire residents from accessing South Gloucestershire Council 'Sort It' recycling centres. False claims of Telephone Preference Service

Fraudsters are cold-calling victims, falsely stating that they are calling from one of the well-known UK telecommunication service providers. White goods warning from county's fire service

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS) has joined other services around the country to urge residents to stop using white goods that have been recalled.

GFRS attends more than two incidents every month involving defective white goods and, as part of their Safe and Well campaign, carry out free checks of all white goods in the home.

Reporting road safety concerns

A new one-stop shop for reporting road safety concerns in Gloucestershire has been launched.
